An effort to shift more police officers to the streets is working in the city of Crowley, according to its Police Chief KP Gibson.

"We have shifted man power around within the department to put more officers on the streets seven days a week. Our officers have been addressing loitering issues, narcotics and other street crimes in the same area of recent violence, says Crowley Police Chief KP Gibson.

Chief Gibson says, over the last week, officers have made seven arrests for drug violations, an arrest of an Armed Robbery suspect and have taken off the streets several firearms that were being illegally carried. This is all in efforts to combat the recent rash of violence in the city, says Chief Gibson.

"We are still working to solve the recent homicide case as detectives are working every lead and all tips to bring the suspect to justice. We still need the public's help with information," says Gibson.
