Shooter Breaks Into New Iberia Residence, Injures Two
Iberia Parish Sheriff's Deputies are searching for an armed suspect thought to be responsible for a shooting at a New Iberia residence last night.
Our news partner KATC reported that the home invasion that turned into a shooting in the 500 block of Emory Lewis Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. Deputies said the suspect broke into the residence and fired several shots hitting a 20-year-old female and an 18-year-old male.
Both victims were transported to Lafayette General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The female's face was grazed by a bullet and she was struck in the shoulder by a bullet. The male was shot in the hip.
The case remains under investigation, but detectives are asking for anyone with information to call the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office at (337) 367-6579.
