All of this started around 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon when Dugas says that King shot a 21-year-old woman at a home in the 200 block of Friendship Drive.

Following the shooting, police say the man carjacked someone in the parking local a business nearby.

He then allegedly carjacked two other people, and deputies from Lafayette were finally able to capture King after the chase went all the way into St. Martin Parish.

King has been arrested on several charges including:

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Home Invasion
  • An additional active warrant
  • Felon In Possession of a Firearm
  • Three counts of Carjacking
  • Armed Robbery

Dugas says they are still investigating all of the circumstances surrounding these incidents.
