Update – Two More Arrests In Lafayette Shooting Death

Wednesday, August 1: Captain Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office says deputies have now arrested two more people in connection with the shooting death of Ray Ryan. 28-year-old Lee Hill of Lafayette and 26-year-old Richard Hurst of New Iberia have been arrested and charged with violating the Terrorism statute.

Judice says six people are now accused of committing an aggravated criminal damage to property. It was during this that investigators say Ryan was shot and killed although he was not believed to be the target of the aggression.

Saturday, May 20: Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies reported to the scene at the 200 block of Marigny Circle at about 9:30 Friday evening.  When they arrived, they found 43-year-old Ray Ryan of Lafayette had been shot.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies have yet to find a motive in the case, but are following up on leads as the investigation continues. They are asking that anyone that was in the area at the time of the shooting and heard or saw anything to let them know.  Any information on the case can be reported to the Lafayette Crime Stoppers TIPS line at 232-8477 (TIPS).
