The story comes out of Monroe where a charter school requires female students that they suspect of being pregnant to take a test.  If they are pregnant, then the school takes them out of the classroom and requires that they transfer out or learn from home.

The state chapter of the ACLU is threatening a suit against the Delhi Charter School over the requirement, saying that it violates laws that outlaw discrimination based on sex.  The school board chairman said that they didn't realize the policy was illegal and they plan to change it.

What do you think?  Should a school be allowed to keep pregnant girls out of the classroom or is this going overboard?  Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
