Shreveport Funeral Home Engulfed In Flames

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Firefighters were advising motorists in Shreveport to avoid the site of a huge early morning fire on the city’s North Hearne Avenue.

The fire at Patterson Funeral home was reported around 5 a.m. Wednesday. Flames engulfed most of the building. There were no injuries reported.

Fire department spokesman Scott Wolverton said there was one body under the funeral home’s care at the time of the fire and firefighters were able to get it out.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
