Shreveport police officer fatally shot before the start of her shift

A female Shreveport police officer was fatally shot last night before she was set to begin her night shift.

Corporal Marcus Hines says one person has been detained, but there's been no update on whether charges have been filed.

The Shreveport Times identifies the fallen officer as Chateri Payne, who recently joined the force. A press conference has been called for 11 AM.
