Six Arrested In Lafayette At OWI Checkpoint

The Lafayette Police Department held an OWI checkpoint on Saturday, September 22nd. Police report that 993 vehicles went through the checkpoint which was located at the 2300 block of Johnston Street.  Of those going through the checkpoint, nineteen drivers were stopped for secondary testing.  A total of 6 drivers were arrested and charged with OWI.  Those arrested for OWI are as follows:

• John B. Glass (42)
• Bobby J. Fontenot (63)
• Eric J. Hebert (24)
• Dee A. Dimmick (50)
• James T. Strange (25)
• Eugene D. Fortier III (36)

In addition, one man, 18-year-old Brice Butler, was also arrested on a charge of resisting an officer.
