Six Rayne People Arrested In Alleged Drug Stealing Scheme, Two On The Loose
Six people are arrested in a drug stealing scheme, while two people still remain on the loose.
Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly says the case started in Lafayette when Metro Narcotics began noticing that Misty Brandenburg was allegedly stealing prescription pads from the office of the physician she worked for. Chief Stelly says Tammy Howe, Jody Dufrene, Jody Dufrene II, Joshua Dufrene and Alicia Dawsey, all from the 1000 block of the Blvd in Rayne, and Cinda LaGrange of the 300 block of Kathy Drive in Rayne, conspired with Brandenburg in illegally taking 3,370 tablets of Hydrocodone, Alprazolam and Carisoprodol that have a street value of $37,300.
Chief Stelly says while those six people are behind bars, authorities are still looking for Brandenburg and Dwayne Lavergne.
