People in Acadiana are known for their generosity and our willingness to help out our neighbors.

SLEMCO will be doing just that when crews head out to Florida to assist in what likely will be a difficult recovery from Hurricane Michael.

None of us in Louisiana are any strangers to losing our power during a storm.

Twenty-two SLEMCO employees will be leaving tomorrow to drive to Madison, Florida to add their support to the Tri-County Electric Cooperative's efforts to turn people's power back on.

Hurricane Michael is expected to do major damage to Florida, and Tree trimmers, mechanics, safety personnel, supervisors and servicemen will be heading their to lend their manpower.
