A small oil spill caused the brief closure of Guillot Road in Youngsville Monday morning.

Captain Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office said a five-gallon oil tub fell off the back of a truck, causing the spill.

Fire and Haz-Mat crews responded to the spill. The spill was "quickly neutralized," according to Alton Trahan with the Lafayette Fire Department.

"The scene has been rendered safe," Trahan said.

The road was closed for about 30 minutes and has been reopened, Judice said.
