A comprehensive smoke-free ordinance is being considered by the Lafayette Consolidated Government, aimed to protect all Lafayette employees and patrons from the harms of second hand smoke.

Today, April 21, 2015 at 5:30 pm, the Lafayette City Council will hold a public comment session on a smoke-free ordinance.

If you have an opinion on whether bars and restaurants should be smoke-free to protect the employees and patrons or if you own a bar/restaurant, this is an opportunity for you to express your concerns.

During the meeting, the council members need to hear from experts in the field, residents and business owners on how the proposed Lafayette smoke-free ordinance will affect both them and city. The council meeting will be held at 705 West University Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70506.
