Imagine if your Memorial Day weekend ended being more about snow, and less about sunshine and remembering the men and women who served our country by the ultimate sacrifice.

Metro Source News Service reports, " Memorial Day Weekend will have a wintry feel in parts of the mountainous U.S. West. Ski resorts are bustling with activity. But a key highway into  Yellowstone is closed and campgrounds are working overtime to remove the white stuff."

It will be the same story for the Rocky Mountains as well as California's Sierra Nevada.

Epic snowpack in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and California is forcing many tourists to abandon the annual rites of launching their summer holidays with a camping trip. Others plan to take advantage of prolonged skiing and showshoeing this strange spring.
