You remember when you were a kid, and your parents played with you.  They would swing you around by your arms, play touch football with you or help you make a fort in the living room?  I remember fun times like that, and I was lucky to have such a good mom.  But, some of the stories of things that parents do with their kids today boggles my mind.

A story out of Fort Wayne, Indiana just makes me want to slap the parents involved.  Fox News reports that four children, ages 4,5, 6 and 7, were strapped to the hood of a car before the dad to three of them left the liquor store.  What????  The man probably was not thinking as police report his blood alcohol level was .17 which is twice the legal limit in Indiana.

Police spokeswoman Raquel Foster said that none of the children was injured.  A witness to the craziness call the police after seeing a man and a woman using a town strap to tie the kids to the hood. "Apparently they were traveling a short distance, and he believed they would enjoy it," Foster said. Police charged the man with drunken driving and neglect.  The woman, mother to three of the kids, was also being held on neglect charges?

Whatever happened to dad or mom pushing you on the swing, taking you down to the park to push you on the merry-go-round, or just hanging out with you?  The man was drunk, and why didn't the woman stop this stupid guy?  Who knows?  I am all for parents deciding and doing what's best for their kids, but no one I know would strap their kids to the hood of a car to go three blocks!  It's just to weird.  I am saying the alcohol blinded his smarter side.....or maybe he doesn't have a smarter side.

Where is Bill Engvall when you need him?  I wish he could have been there saying, "Here's your sign"!  You need a license to drive, but not to be stupid with your kids. So, what do you think?  Were these kids in danger?
