Last night the Acadiana Center for the Arts premiered "Songs From The Coast" a one hour long Louisiana Crossroads film featuring D.L. Menard, Irma Thomas, Sonny Landreth and Allen Toussaint.

My wife, Kathy and I attended and along with a full house, were treated to an incredible film spotlighting Louisiana talent.  This high definition presentation was recorded at Preservation Hall in New Orleans, The James Devin Moncus Theater at the ACA and Festival International.  The film was directed by Allison Bohl and was filmed, recorded and edited entirely in Louisiana.  The pilot premiered in Lafayette and producers hope to have it televised worldwide within a year.  If the reception the film received last night is any indication I think this will be the kickoff of a long running series fashioned after PBS's "Austin City Limits".
