JOHANNESBURG (AP) — South African Airways says 20 people were injured today when one of its planes headed for Hong Kong encountered severe turbulence.

The plane had originated in Johannesburg.

The airline says 17 passengers and three crewmembers were hurt when turbulence hit as the plane was flying over Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hong Kong emergency officials say two of the injuries are critical.
