LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Problems with a new online registration system have forced officials at South Louisiana Community College to extend their registration period by a week.

The college also announced it will expand the hours of operations for Student Services on all SLCC campuses.

“We are continually trying to be creative in addressing our students’ needs during this time. Extending registration is just one of several steps we are taking to accommodate our students,” said Harder. “We understand their frustration and are working diligently to address concerns and get students registered for classes. We have even added mini-semesters within the traditional fall semester to help students take the courses they need.”

Advisors will be available Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Campuses are located in Lafayette, New Iberia, St. Martinville, Crowley, Ville Platte, Abbeville, and Opelousas.

The deadline to apply for a hardship waiver has also been extended to Sept. 7.
