A strange mix of weather has been wreaking havoc across Southern California this weekend.

Some areas have been scorching with triple digit heat including the San Fernando County area where the mercury reached 104 degrees.  In Irwindale 8 track athletes had to be rushed to hospitals due to heat exhaustion.

Several road closures were ordered by California State Police due to flash flooding and mudslides that cover a number of roadways.  Highway 94 in San Diego reported six inches of rainfall.

Flash flooding in San Bernardino County temporarily stranded hikers near the community of Forest Falls.
