  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 101 points to 12,721. The Nasdaq Composite fell 35 points while the S&P 500 dropped 12 points.
  • In economic news, a recession is deepening in Spain, the 4th largest economy that uses the Euro currency.
  • In corporate news, shares of McDonald's fell almost 4% following a rare drop in reported profit largely due to the stronger dollar. And Apple was down more than 14 dollars a share in trading.
  • Another volatile day for light, sweet crude oil as it was up $3.69. Crude settled at $88.31 a barrel. And gold was down $8.00 to $15.77 an ounce.
