ST. GABRIEL, La. (AP) — A Mansfield church group brought an early Thanksgiving dinner to the 1,000 inmates of the state prison for women in St. Gabriel, with jambalaya, salad rolls and cookies.

The Advocate reports that Harvest Outreach Ministries had the meal catered by Tee Wayne's Cajun Cooking of St. Amant.

The group gives services about once a month at the LouisianaCorrectional Institute for Women, including one after the Sunday meal.

The Rev. Troy Terrell says Sunday was the first time the church tried to feed all the inmates.

"Tee" Wayne Abshire, owner of the catering company, says some people told him it was the best food they'd had all year.
