St. Jude Not Just Helping Children
When I visited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis in January, I was blown away by the fact that St. Jude is not just helping children.
The progress made in the fight against cancer in children also makes strides in the fight against ALL cancer. Though St. Jude concentrates on curing childhood cancers and other diseases, the discoveries made there are shared all around the world. Shared freely, ALL AROUND THE WORLD. When St. Jude makes a new discovery, everyone gets told about it so that it can be used to treat patients who have never stepped foot into St. Jude Hospital.
CJ is aware of the fact that most, if not all of the treatment Brittni is receiving at the hospital in Tampa CAME FROM DISCOVERIES MADE AT ST. JUDE!! He was always a supporter of St. Jude but, with Brittni's diagnosis, that support has hit home (not just for CJ, but for all of us here at KTDY).
St. Jude has come a long way in the fight against childhood cancer and other diseases, but they haven't done it alone. With a DAILY budget of $2.1M (that "M" stands for MILLION!!), St. Jude can NOT continue to operate without your help.
Patients are NEVER given a bill. Ever. Not one. Nope. Never.
