An investigation involving the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana State Brand Commissioners has earned two men accused of cattle theft time in the St. Landry Parish jail.

Jeramie Brown, 37, of Eunice, and Dustin Guillory, 23, of Mamou, were arrested after allegedly stealing 13 heifers and one Angus Bull from a St. Landry Parish cattle ranch, where Brown was formerly employed.

Investigators determined that the men trespassed onto the cattle owner's property on two occasions and transported the stolen cattle to auction where the livestock was sold. Though some of the stolen cattle have been recovered, some from as far away as Carthage, Texas, investigators are continuing to search for the remainder.

Both men were charged with two counts of criminal trespassing and two counts of felony theft of cattle. Bond was set for each at $12,000.
