55-year-old David Wayne Clark of Port Barre has been arrested for allegedly bringing synthetic marijuana, cell phones and tobacco into the St. Landry Parish Jail, where he worked.

“We received confidential information that Clark was smuggling in synthetic marijuana, cell phones and tobacco into the jail," says St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. "During the investigation, Clark admitted to bringing contraband into the jail on at least three separate occasions."

Sheriff's Office spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena says Clark is now behind bars for allegedly doing this on at least three separate occasions.

“Contraband is an issue for every jail facility. I commend Warden Jesse Martin, the corrections supervisors and our narcotics officers for staying on top of this continuing issue,” Guidroz added.
