St. Landry Man Facing Multiple Charges After Alleged Forcible Rape

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says an Opelousas man was arrested Friday, November 29, after police say he allegedly held a woman against her will and forced her to have sexual relations with him.

Spokesman Captain Megan Vizena says 42-year-old Troy Junior Sam has been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:

• False imprisonment
• Simple Battery
• Forcible Rape

Vizena says,

"The victim reported that the accused lured her into his home where she was held against her will and raped. As soon as she could escape, she drove to the Sheriff's Office and filed a report. At the conclusion of the investigation, Sam was arrested and taken to the St. Landry Parish Jail and is being held with no bond."

Vizena adds that no other details are being released about the incident in order to protect the identity of the victim.
