The grand jury has been keeping busy looking over two cases dealing with the murder of two people and indictments were handed out yesterday.

The first case deals with a 24-year-old rape and murder of a then 28-year-old Brenda Dupont.  Joenell Rubin was 19 at the time of the incident. According to the reports he raped then stabbed Dupont before being arrested after DNA evidence linked him to the scene.

He is being charged with first-degree murder for the December 19th, 1988 crime and faces life in prison.

The second indictment deals with the murder of a two-year-old.

In March, Latricia Hunt and her boyfriend Dominique Jackson were both arrested on first-degree murder charges.

The true nature of the charges came into light after the grand jury indicted Jackson with first-degree murder of a juvenile under the age of 12 and Hunt with a second-degree cruelty to a juvenile under the age of 17.
