St. Martin Parish Deputies Investigate Vehicle Fires

Emergency personnel in St. Martin Parish responded to two vehicles on fire Saturday night.

Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office says they were dispatched to Acadiana Mack Volvo in Breaux Bridge after a passing driver noticed a vehicle was on fire.

"While the Deputy was en-route to the location, he was advised of a second vehicle also on fire at the location," Higgin says.

When the deputy arrived at the scene, two vehicles were fully engulfed in flames, affecting a third vehicle in the area. Fire personnel were able to extinguish the fires.

Police believe the fires were the results of arson, Higgins says. The case remains under investigation.
