St. Martin Parish Home Destroyed By Fire

An area home goes up in flames early Friday morning. Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office says the house on 1026 Guidry Road in Breaux Bridge (near Henderson) caught fire around 4:15 a.m.

About 30 Firefighters from the Henderson, Cecilia, Arnaudville and Breaux Bridge Fire Departments responded to the fire. They say it took about an hour to get the fire under control and another two hours to put out hot spots.

Unfortunately, the home was deemed a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
