The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a Breaux Bridge man for firing shots into two cars and a mobile home after a dispute.

Deputies say 41-year-old Lionel Potier is alleged to have fired shots in the direction of a man's home whom he was having a verbal argument with.

Sunday afternoon around 3:15, deputies say Potier went to the Orchard street home, had an argument with a man there, left, came back with a gun, and their argument turned heated.

Police say Potier fired shots hitting the two cars and the mobile home before leaving.

Deputies later found Potier's car at an abandoned home, but he had fled on foot.

He was found two hours later and booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail on the following charges:

  • LA. R.S. 14:37.4 (1 ct.) Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
  • LA. R.S. 14:55  (1 ct.) Aggravated Criminal Damage To Property
  • LA. R.S. 14:95.1 (1 ct.) Possession of a Firearm or Carrying Concealed Weapon By Person Convicted Of Certain Felonies
