UPDATE: A woman and two four-year-old children who went missing Sunday while four-wheeling have been found safe near the Atchafalaya Basin.

Just after 7:30 Monday evening, they were found about a mile from where they were last seen Sunday afternoon.

Following an extensive search of the area for hours, they were located by two of the volunteers who were assisting with the search.

They were taken to a local hospital to be checked out; however, Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office says they appeared to be in good condition despite their ordeal.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office along with a host of local law enforcement agencies and countless volunteers searched for the three.  The three went missing on Sunday after their four-wheeler apparently got stuck.

UPDATE: Clyde Colby Louviere has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in Lafayette Parish for reckless operation.

That's according to our news partners at KATC, who say Louviere was riding four-wheelers with 25-year-old Heather Gary and the two missing children.

Louviere was the man who police say went to get help. Deputies say a passerby picked Louviere up as he was walking, brought him to his house to call for help, and when officers got there discovered the warrant.

Police are questioning Louviere about the missing persons investigation as Gary and the two children are still missing.

Police in St. Martin Parish are searching for a woman and two children who went missing Sunday afternoon.

Investigators said 25-year-old Heather Gary, four-year-old Landon Sonnier, and four-year-old Taylin Toucheck were riding four-wheelers with another man in an area near Parks. Their vehicle apparently got stuck, and Gary and the two kids were last seen by an oil worker walking on Joel Blanchard Road at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the man who was with the woman and children left them to find help.

Gary was last seen wearing a yellow spaghetti-strapped shirt, and she was not wearing shoes. She may have been covered in mud.

The young girl has blonde hair and was wearing a pink shirt. The boy was only described as wearing blue jeans.
