St. Martin Sheriff’s Office Offering Public Safety Courses

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office is hosting a couple public safety courses to educate women about rape defense and seniors about road safety.

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course is being offered to women ages 16 and older. The course will be held at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office Training Center at 1815 Terrace Hwy. (La. 96) in St. Martinville on Nov. 4-5. Registrants must attend both days from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Anyone under 18 must have a parent present. To register, contact Sgt. The AARP Driver's Safety Class will be offered to anyone 55 and older on Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It will also be held at the Sheriff's Office Training Center at the address above. The cost for the class is $15 for AARP members, and $20 for non-members. To register for the class, please call 337-394-2672 by Nov. 10, 2015.
