St. Martin Traffic Stop Yields $2 Million In Pot
Two Jamaican men have been booked into jail after Louisiana State Police discovered more than $2 million in marijuana the pair were hauling in an 18-wheeler.
Trooper Stephen Hammons with State Police says they became suspicious about the cargo inside the trailer of the 18-wheeler after conducting a traffic stop on I-10 in St. Martin Parish.
Hammons says after getting permission from the mean, troopers found 843 pounds of marijuana.
The driver, 33-year-old Anthony Senior, and the passenger, 29-year-old Damian Jarrett, both of Kingston, Jamaica, were booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail on charges of drug possession and possession with intent to distribute.
