St. Martinville Gets Veterans Memorial

A new memorial stands in St. Martinville to honor veterans of wars past and present. Mayor Thomas Nelson says the granite memorial bears the seals of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. He says it was cut over six months in Breaux Bridge and brought to St. Martinville early last month. The memorial cost 40-thousand dollars. The parish and city each put in about 15-thousand to build it.
