St. Martinville Woman Dead After Crash In Lafayette

A 26-year-old St. Martinsville woman is dead following a crash on the Evangeline Thruway early Saturday morning.

According to Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton, Tashawn Williams was driving south on the thruway when for some reason she veered off the road and hit a traffic signal.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
