ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KPEL) -- A St. Martinville man was killed Wednesday night following a single car crash on Hwy. 96.

According to state police Trp. Stephen Hammons, 55-year-old Brady Hebert was driving on the highway near Duchamp Road at 10:41 p.m. when for some reason, he drove off the right side of the road and hit an embankment. That caused his truck to flip over, and Hebert was ejected from the vehicle, Hammons said.

Hebert was not wearing a seat belt, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Hammons said.

It's not known if impairment may have played a factor in the crash, but routing toxicology samples were taken, Hammons said.
