St. Martinville Man Dies In Crash

Louisiana State Police say a man is dead after a traffic crash on Louisiana Highway 96 east of Louisiana Highway 347 Tuesday.

Troop I Spokesman Thomas Gossen says that 29-year-old Mckenzie J. Fontenette died as the result of a single car crash around 6 o'clock yesterday evening.

Officials will be running routine toxicology tests, but Gossen says they do know that Fontenette was not wearing a seat belt.

Gossen says they do not know what caused Fontenette to crash his 1986 Ford Crown Victoria.

The investigation is ongoing.
