St. Martinville Woman Arrested In Lafayette Home Arson

A woman accused of setting fire to a home with someone she had a dispute with is now behind bars.

Lafayette Fire Department spokesman Alton Trahan says Drucieta Gail Carmouche of St. Martinville allegedly broke the kitchen window, set a rag on fire and threw it in the kitchen of the N. Pine Street home while its owner Darrel Leday was not home. Trahan says a witness saw it happen.

Carmouche faces a charge of Simple Arson.
