St. Mary Parish Man Arrested For Driving Car Into Ditch & Falling Asleep

A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy arrested a Patterson man Friday night after he says the man was driving drunk, and ended up in a ditch.

The Sheriff's Office received several calls about a reckless driver on Highway 90, and when a deputy got to the scene, he found 48-year-old Keith Johnson asleep at the week of his car which was in a ditch.

The deputy says Johnson's car was still in drive.

Police say Johnson was not able to maintain his balance, and he later registered at 0.225 % on his blood alcohol test.

The deputy says he also found a cup containing an alcoholic beverage in Johnson's car..

Johnson was booked for 2nd offense OWI and having an open alcoholic beverage in his car.

He later bonded out of jail.
