A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy went out to Beadle Street in Amelia after there was a report of someone crashing into a car and then leaving the scene.

The deputy tracked down 40-year-old Lee Boudreaux at his home on North Verret Street to find that Boudreaux's car had damage that matched the other car's impact area.

Boudreaux was found to be driving under suspension.

He was booked on the following charges:

  • Hit and run driving
  • Driving under suspension
  • No insurance
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of expired motor vehicle inspection
  • Failure to honor written promise to appear

Boudreaux later bonded out of jail.
