St. Mary Parish Sheriff Investigating Armed Robbery

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at 5:30am Saturday morning (6/27/15). The robbery occurred in the 1400 block of South Road in Bayou Vista. Deputies learned that a woman was leaving her home when an armed man confronted her and demanded money. The suspect took the woman's purse that contained her identification and approximately $100 in cash. The suspect was described as a heavy set dark skinned man wearing dark clothing and head covering like a ski mask.
