2 names appear on the arrest report provided by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies say they responded to 35 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period.

Shawn S. Himel , 46, 169 Wisner St. Paradis, LA was arrested on a warrant for simple robbery. On March 17, 2015 at 3:08 am St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a robbery at the Circle K convenience store on Highway 182 in Amelia. Upon arrival, deputies gathered a description of the perpetrator and began a search of the area, but did not locate the suspect. During the course of the investigation into the robbery, video surveillance of the crime was obtained. On it, the suspect is seen entering the store just prior to 3:00 am. The suspect, who did not appear to be armed, approached the counter and demanded money from the store clerk. Fearing that the suspect would become violent, the victim turned over the cash in the register. The suspect then left the store. After releasing pictures of video surveillance footage of the crime (see March 24, 2015 release), the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division received multiple tips regarding the identity of the suspect. Upon investigating one of the tips, the detective assigned to the case identified 45-year old Shawn Himel of Paradis, LA as the suspect who approached the counter and demanded money from the store clerk. A warrant on the charge of simple robbery was obtained for Himel’s arrest on March 26, 2015. At that time, Himel was located at the St. Charles Parish jail where he was incarcerated on unrelated charges. On May 17, 2016 he was transported from that facility to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and booked at 10:38 am. No bail is set.

Ethan Mensman , 18, 154 Riverview Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on May 17, 2016 at 11:11 pm on a warrant for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. On May 16, 2016, a deputy received information regarding a criminal damage to property complaint from the Patterson Police Department. During the course of the investigation, the deputy found evidence that Mensman was in a vehicle that drove into a gate on private property off Zenor Road in Patterson causing damage to the structure. While working a separate complaint, a deputy made contact with Mensman and made the arrest on the warrant. Mensman was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The case remains under investigation at this time.
