Four names appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report, which covers the last 24-hour reporting period. 37 complaints were investigated by deputies.

Renee Watts , 39, 140 Mill Road Lot 16 Patterson, LA was arrested on June 16, 2016 at 3:48 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at Watts’ residence and located a bag of marijuana and several drug paraphernalia items. Watts was not at the location at the time of the search and a warrant was obtained for her arrest. Detectives later made contact with Watts at her residence and took her into custody on the warrant. Watts was released on a summons to appear in court on September 15, 2016.

Fanchon C. Toups , 27, 824 Lillian Lane Amelia, LA was arrested on June 16, 2016 at 9:50 am on a warrant for telephone harassment. A deputy received a complaint on June 6, 2016. The deputy collected information that Toups repeatedly attempted to contact a subject via telephone. The deputy made contact with Toups and advised her to stop. On June 13, 2016, a detective received a second complaint of telephone harassment. The detective found evidence that Toups masked her phone number, commonly referred to as spoofing, in order to attempt to reach the subject despite being previously told to cease contact. The detective obtained a warrant for her arrest. While responding to a separate complaint, a deputy made contact with Toups and took her into custody on the warrant. Toups was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Jeremiah Garces , 24, 1601 Cross Road #2 Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 16, 2016 at 7:50 pm for driving under suspension. A deputy responded to a suspicious person complaint in the parking lot of a business on Highway 90 in the Jeanerette area. The deputy located the vehicle and made contact with the driver identified as Garces. While speaking with Garces, the deputy discovered that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Garces was released on a summons to appear in court on September 15, 2016.

Joel M. Pellerin , 21, 578 Parish Road 131 Franklin, LA was arrested on June 17, 2016 at 3:40 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver traveling on Highway 90 in the Centerville area. The deputy located the suspect vehicle on Highway 317, conducted a traffic stop, and made contact with the driver, identified as Pellerin. While speaking with Pellerin, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy also observed that Pellerin was slurring his speech as he spoke and was unable to maintain his balance while standing. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Pellerin performed poorly. Pellerin later registered a 0.200g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. The deputy transported Pellerin to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
