Jarrid Westley, 27, 427 Big Four Corners Road, Four Corners, LA was arrested on June 27, 2016 at 3:45 pm for 3 counts resisting an officer and on a Department of Public Safety and Corrections warrant for parole violation. Deputies went to a residence on Highway 318 to locate Westley on the active warrant for his arrest. While speaking with another subject at the door, a deputy heard a ruckus coming from another part of the residence. The deputy ran towards the noise and observed Westley climbing out of a window to the ground. The deputy ordered Westley to stop. Westley then fled on foot. The deputy pursued him through several yards. Westley then ran into the street causing several vehicles to come to stop. The deputy caught up to Westley in a driveway. While being taken into custody, Westley attempted to pull away from the deputy. Westley was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. Additional charges are pending.

Joseph Lumpkin, 53, 121 Martin Luther King Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on June 27, 2016 at 9:24 pm for the following offenses:
Pedestrians soliciting rides or business (prohibited)
Resisting a police officer with force or violence
Possession of marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
A deputy working on Highway 182 in Baldwin observed a subject flagging down vehicles attempting to get a ride. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Lumpkin. Lumpkin then began backing away as the deputy spoke with him. When the deputy attempted to detain him, Lumpkin pushed the deputy and fled on foot. The deputy pursued him and caught up to Lumpkin after running through several yards. During the apprehension, Lumpkin pulled away from the deputy and repeatedly reached for his own hip where a knife was clipped to his pants. After being placed into custody, the deputy located a small amount of marijuana and two pipes used for smoking crack cocaine on Lumpkin's person. Lumpkin was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
