14 names appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report, which covers the latest 24-hour reporting period. Deputies say they investigated 49 complaints.

Aquindus Humphrey, 20, 171 Village Ln, Amelia LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 11:57am for simple cruelty to animals. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a malnourished dog. The deputy located the dog on Village Ln, and owner, Humphrey. The dog appeared emaciated and was without adequate shelter. The dog had ant bites over its face and legs. Humphrey was ultimately released on a summons to appear to court on October 17, 2016.

Raynel Humphrey, 54, 171 Village Ln, Amelia LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 9:47am for simple cruelty to animals. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a malnourished dog. The deputy located the dog chained to a fence on Village Ln. The deputy made contact with the homeowner and learned that the dog belonged to her son. The dog appeared emaciated and was without adequate shelter. The dog had ant bites over its face and legs. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Raynel Humphrey failed to improve the dog’s living conditions. She was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

Ashley Nicole Campbell, 34, 206 California St, Berwick LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 11:25am on a warrant for failing to appear to court on charges of theft under $300. Deputies working an unrelated investigation came in to contact with Campbell on California St and learned of the active warrant. No bail is set.

Seth Martin, 24, 202 California St, Berwick LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 5:15pm on charges of theft. Deputies assigned to investigate a theft learned that Martin stole three quart size jars of change from a residence in Franklin. The jars of change were estimated to be worth $20, combined. Martin was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

Patrick Levine, 45, 1051 Belleview St, Bayou Vista LA was arrested on July 15, 2016 at 1:13am for possession of alcoholic beverages (open container) in a motor vehicle. A deputy assigned to patrol the Bayou Vista area responded to a report of a reckless driver on Highway 90. The deputy located a vehicle matching the given description and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Levine, and a cup containing liquor was later located in the vehicle. Levine was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

Dale Simoneaux Jr, 25, 10799 Highway 182 W, Franklin LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 11:31pm on a warrant for failing to appear to court on charges of criminal neglect of family. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area located Simoneaux and learned of his active warrant. Simonueaux was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $12, 725.

David Phillips , 36, 201 Collins St, Baldwin LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 2:10pm on charges of entering contraband into a penal institution. Detectives initiated an investigation concerning contraband being entered into the parish jail on June 19th. During the course of the investigation and through surveillance footage, Phillips was identified as the one responsible for the act.

Graceland Gabriel , 28, 321 Second St, Franklin LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 12:27pm for disturbing the peace and criminal trespass. A deputy assigned to patrol the Franklin area responded to a disturbance on Irish Bend Rd. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Gabriel attempted to fight with the occupant of the residence while armed with a pot and towel rack. Gable was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a summons to appear to court on October 17, 2016.

Derek Gaskins, 35, 131 ½ Friendship Alley, Amelia LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 3:31pm on the following charges:
-Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
-Possession of a schedule II narcotic (meth) with intent to distribute
-Possession of a schedule II narcotics (hydrocodone) with intent to distribute
-0Possession of drug paraphernalia
-Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
-Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
-Transactions involving drug proceeds
-Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone

Detectives with the St Mary Parish Narcotics Division initiated an investigation regarding illegal drug activity at Gaskins’ residence. A search was conducted of the residence and the following was located: bags of meth, bags of crack cocaine, bags of marijuana, and a large amount of hydrocodone pills (street values of $2,500). Detectives also located a rifle and shotgun hidden in the residence. The residence is situated near a church. Gaskins was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Eric Robertson, 53, 102 Mallard St, Morgan City LA was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 6:10pm on charges of criminal trespass, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule II narcotic (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, obstruction of justice and drug free zone. Detectives answered a complaint regarding illegal drug activity at a residence on Grace St in Morgan City. Detectives responded to the residence, and observed Robertson flee the area. Robertson ran through neighboring yards but was caught shortly afterwards. Detectives ultimately located crack cocaine, a pill bottle containing additional crack cocaine with razor blades in the area Robertson had been sitting in. Robertson was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Verelyn Cannon, 57, 1015 Grace St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 6:10pm for possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives answered a complaint regarding illegal drug activity at a residence on Grace St in Morgan City. Detectives responded to the residence and located Cannon in the living room area. Detectives located glass pipes in the living room area, along with crack cocaine in another area. Cannon was arrested and transported to the parish jail. Cannon was released on a summons to appear to court on October 17, 2016.

Mary Griffin, 47, 761 Utah St, Berwick LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 6:10pm for possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives answered a complaint regarding illegal drug activity at a residence on Grace St in Morgan City. Detectives responded to the residence and located Griffin in the living room area. Detectives located glass pipes in the living room area, along with crack cocaine in another area. Griffin was arrested and transported to the parish jail. She was released on a summons to appear to court on October 17, 2016.

Tanisha Wilkerson, 40, 116 Grace St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 6:10pm for possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives answered a complaint regarding illegal drug activity at a residence on Grace St in Morgan City. Detectives responded to the residence and located Wilkerson in the living room area. Detectives located glass pipes in the living room area, along with crack cocaine in another area. Wilkerson was arrested and transported to the parish jail. She was released on a summons to appear to court on October 17, 2016.

Melvin Thibodaux, 47, 1423 James St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on July 14, 2016 at 6:10pm for possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives answered a complaint regarding illegal drug activity at a residence on Grace St in Morgan City. Detectives responded to the residence and located Thibodaux in the living room area. Detectives located glass pipes in the living room area, along with crack cocaine in another area. Thibodaux was arrested and transported to the parish jail. He was released on a summons to appear to court on October 17, 2016.
