5 names appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report. Deputies say they investigated 43 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period.

Ernest Jones, III, 31, 1030 Martin Luther king Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on August 9, 2016 at 2:25 pm on a warrant for failure to notify law enforcement of a change of address as a sex offender and on a warrant for failure to pay annual registration fee as a sex offender. Jones was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in St. Mary Parish in 2004. A detective with the Sex Offender Compliance Division conducting a compliance check at his registered address found that he was no longer living at that address. Jones also failed to pay the annual registration fee as a sex offender. The detective obtained the warrants for Jones' arrest. A correctional officer transported Jones from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. No bail is set.

Kendall Hines, Jr., 17, 1272 Big Four Corners Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on August 9, 2016 at 5:06 pm on a warrant for the following offenses:
Simple burglary (vehicle)
Resisting an officer
Remaining where forbidden
2 counts criminal mischief
A deputy responded to a complaint of a vehicle burglary at a fire station on Big Four Corners Road. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that fire fighters had been called out through 911 to respond to 2 incidents that were later found to have been falsified. The deputy also learned that a vehicle parked near the station had been burglarized while fire fighters were away from the building. Using evidence collected at the scene, the deputy positively identified Hines as the suspect who opened the door of the unlocked vehicle and took several items including a small amount of cash. The deputy received information regarding Hines' whereabouts and spotted him at a convenience store on Highway 318. Upon seeing the deputy, Hines fled to a nearby wooded area. Continuing the investigation, the deputy obtained a warrant for Hines' arrest. A deputy located Hines at his residence on the warrant. Hines was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Justin Singleton, 18, 1008 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 9, 2016 at 11:09 pm for speeding. A deputy patrolling St. Joseph observed a vehicle traveling 61 miles per hour in a posted 25 miles per hour zone in Irish Bend Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Singleton. Following the traffic stop investigation, Singleton was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

Jonathon Miller, 35, 2643 Southern Drive, Lake Charles, LA was arrested on August 10, 2016 at 2:07 am for the following offenses:
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, 2nd offense
Improper lane usage
Possession of synthetic cannabinoids
Possession of drug paraphernalia
A deputy on Highway 90 in the Garden City area observed a vehicle traveling in the middle of the two lane roadway. The deputy also observed the driver cross onto the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Miller. When Miller exited the vehicle, the deputy observed that he was swaying and shaking as he walked. The deputy conducted a standardized field sobriety test. Miller performed poorly on the sobriety test. As the investigation progressed, the deputy located over a dozen burnt synthetic marijuana cigarettes on the driver's seat and surrounding area inside the vehicle as well as a partially empty package of synthetic cannabinoids and rolling papers. Miller was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Harvey Morgan, Sr. , 35, 113 Rose Park Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 9, 2016 at 5:54 pm for the following offenses:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Legend Drug (gabapentin) without a prescription
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
Narcotics detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, accompanied by members of the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division, made contact with Morgan, detained him, and transported him to his residence on Rose Park Lane pending an investigation into suspected illegal drug activity at the location. Detectives located marijuana, methamphetamine, a gabapentin pill, marijuana grinder, and other items of drug paraphernalia. Detectives also collected evidence that Morgan sold illegal drugs. The residence is located near a church and park. Morgan was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
