4 names appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report. Deputies say they investigated 35 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period.

Anthony Beard, 40, Cross Road #2, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 6, 2016 at 5:36 am for disturbing the peace (profanity). A deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence on Cross Road #2 and observed a male subject cursing in the street. The deputy made contact with the man and identified him as Beard. The deputy assisted Beard in retrieving his belongings from the residence. Beard continued to yell profanities throughout the interaction despite being asked repeatedly to refrain from cursing. Beard was transported to the parish jail for booking and was released on a summons to appear in court on December 14, 2016.

Marlen Hernandez, 29, 207 Westside Park Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on September 6, 2016 at 4:52 pm for aggravated assault and reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to a complaint of reckless driving on Westside Park Lane in Amelia. The deputy collected evidence that Hernandez sped down the lane nearly striking a small child who was walking home from the bus stop with a parent. Hernandez's vehicle hit a puddle of water splashing the child. The deputy also received additional complaints about Hernandez's driving. While at the scene, the deputy observed Hernandez speed down the lane and then brake rapidly when she saw the police unit. A child was in the vehicle Hernandez was driving. The juvenile was turned over to a guardian. Following the investigation, Hernandez was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Oscar Stewart, Jr., 45, 1014 Martin Luther King Drive, Baldwin, LA was arrested on September 6, 2016 at 9:54 pm on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy patrolling Happy Acres Trailer Park in Baldwin observed Stewart sitting outside of a residence and made contact with him. The deputy then located an active warrant for him. Stewart was transported to the parish jail for booking where he was charged on another active warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail is set at $18,423.80.

Lashanta Lumpkin, 24, 312 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 6, 2016 at 11:54 pm for head lights required, no motor vehicle insurance, and no driver's license. A deputy patrolling St. Joseph observed a vehicle with only one working headlight traveling on Irish Bend Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Lumpkin. While speaking with her, the deputy found that she was operating the vehicle without a valid driver's license and without insurance. Lumpkin was released on a summons to appear in court on December 14, 2016.
