4 names appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report. Deputies say they investigated 32 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period.

Joseph Madise, Jr. , 18, 216 Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 9, 2016 at 6:36 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle parked behind a business off Highway 90 with several subjects sitting inside. Detectives made contact with the subjects including a passenger, identified as Madise. While talking with the group, Madise handed a bag of marijuana to detectives. Following the investigation, Madise was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

Jason Hunt, 29, 112 Field Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 9, 2016 at 7:55 pm on a warrant for the following offenses:
Possession of Schedule II (hydrocodone)
Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)
Possession of Legend Drug (promethazine) without a prescription
Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
Violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone
Possession of drug paraphernalia
In July, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Section conducted a search warrant at a camp in the Berwick area belonging to Hunt. Detectives located burnt marijuana cigarettes, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and pills. A shotgun was found near the drugs. Continuing the investigation, detectives also obtained a search warrant for Hunt's residence. There, they located marijuana and more Xanax pills. Hunt's residence is located within 2000 feet of a park and church. Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Hunt's arrest. A patrol deputy located hunt at his residence and transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Jaquincy Colbert, 25, 4483 Highway 83, Glencoe, LA was arrested on November 9, 2016 at 8:51 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, possession of a Schedule I drug, and operating a vehicle without a driver's license. A deputy, who knew Colbert was wanted on an active arrest warrant, made contact with him at a store on Main Street in Baldwin. Colbert was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Jeffery Marks, Jr., 23, 2011 Frisco Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 9, 2016 at 11:40 pm for the following offenses:
Resisting an officer with force
Maximum speed limit violation
No driver's license
Simple escape
Possession of Schedule II (cocaine) with intent to distribute
Possession of Schedule IV(Xanax)
Possession of Schedule V (promethazine)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
Transactions involving proceeds drug offenses
A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle traveling 65 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone on LA Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Marks, and 3 other occupants in the vehicle. The deputy found that Marks was operating the vehicle without a driver's license. While speaking with deputies, Marks repeatedly attempted to walk past them towards the vehicle. As deputies worked to detain him, Marks pulled away and then pushed a deputy. Marks was placed in handcuffs. Deputies located a digital scale, over $1,400 in cash, and a Xanax pill on his person. During his arrest Marks pulled away from a deputy and fled on foot. Deputies apprehended him after a brief foot pursuit. As another deputy spoke with the three occupants in the vehicle, one of the passengers got into the driver's seat and fled the area with the other two passengers inside. Deputies followed the vehicle to School House Lane in Charenton where the three subjects fled on foot. The K-9 Unit was contacted to assist. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a bag of cocaine, a pill bottle containing 21 pieces (commonly referred to as rocks) of crack cocaine, and a bottle of promethazine. Marks was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The investigation in ongoing.
