A total of 7 arrests have been made over the last 24 hours by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. During that time, deputies responded to 43 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Patrick Augman, 41, 312 Como Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 10:10 am on a warrant for theft of goods and on a Morgan City warrant for theft. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office warrant for theft of goods is the result of an investigation into a complaint of shoplifting at a store located on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned that Augman entered the store took several items and then left without paying for the goods. Augman turned himself in at the branch office in Morgan City after learning about the warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.

Juvenile male, 16, Four Corners, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 11:00 am on a warrant for simple burglary (vehicle). A deputy investigating a report of a vehicle burglary on Big Four Corners Road learned that the juvenile male took a wallet from a parked vehicle and obtained a warrant for his arrest. A deputy located the juvenile at his residence. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Cynthia Welch, 56, 103 Teche Court, Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 2:48 pm for no insurance, no license plate, and failure to carry proof of registration. A deputy stopped to assist a stranded motorist on Highway 182 in the Franklin area. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, Welch, the deputy learned that the car was not insured. The deputy also observed that the vehicle did not have a license plate. Welch was released on a summons to appear in court on January 13, 2015.

Eric Driskill, 40, 1401 Westover Drive, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 7:06 pm on a Morgan City Court warrant for failure to appear on the charge of expired drivers license. Narcotics detectives conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 182 in Patterson made contact Driskill who was a passenger. Detectives found that Driskill had an active warrant for his arrest from Morgan City. Driskill was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later transferred to the Morgan City jail.

Mia Blair, 18, 316 South Bay Road, Pierre Part, LA was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 10:10 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference. Blair turned herself on the warrant at the Berwick Police Department. A deputy transported her to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $100,000.

Nikolay Zozulya, 57, 1311 Shillington Drive, Katy, TX was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 11:21 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 90 in Ricohoc and made contact with the driver of the vehicle identified as Zozulya. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Zozulya fell asleep at the wheel of the pick-up truck and ran off the roadway into the median. The deputy transported Zozulya to the parish jail for booking. Zozulya was later released on a summons to appear in court on January 13, 2015.

Claude Hebert, 40, 236 Elaine Street, Baldwin, LA was additionally charged at 8:49 am on a Baldwin Police warrant for theft. Hebert was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

Chelsie Lacoste, 19, 112 Beau Lane Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on October 7, 2015 at 6:24 pm for possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule IV (Xanax), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division patrolling Bayou Vista stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Beau Lane off of Pluto Street. While speaking with the occupants, detectives smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Through further investigation, detectives found marijuana, 5 Xanax pills, and items of drug paraphernalia in Lacoste's purse and on her person. Lacoste was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
