6 people have been arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office over the last 24 hours. At least 42 complaints were brought to deputies and the following arrests were made:

Wyanisha Dawn Shay Jones, 30, 267 Verdun Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 21, 2015 at 8:50 am for driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area responded to a motor vehicle crash at Highway 182 and Highway 317. Through the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Jones was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Jones was released on a summons to appear in court on January 13, 2016.

Katheryn Ann Vercher, 30, 400 Joseph Street, Slidell, LA was arrested on October 21, 2015 at 11:14 am on a detainer for the Department of Public Safety and Corrections Division of Probation and Parole. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area made contact with Vercher outside of a local business. During the encounter, it was learned that Vercher held a detainer for Probation and Parole. Vercher was transported to the parish jail for booking and was later transferred to another jurisdiction.

Ciara Leonard, 28, 1245 Highway 402, Napoleonville, LA was arrested on October 21, 2015 at 11:59 am on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court treatment program on the charges of possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids-second offense. A deputy conducting a standard warrants check during a booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Bail is set at 100,000.00.

Juvenile female, 14, was arrested on October 21, 2015 at 8:12 pm for theft. A deputy patrolling the Charenton area responded to a call of an ungovernable juvenile. Through the course of the investigation, the juvenile was transported to the Sheriff's Office where she admitted to stealing a tablet along with 2 cell phones. The juvenile was arrested for theft and released back into her parent's custody, pending juvenile court proceedings.

James Brewer, 34, 150 Riverview Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 22, 2015 at 2:16 am for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a business in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that while inside of the business, Brewer became irate with employees, and was asked to leave the establishment several times. Brewer was located in a neighboring yard and subsequently transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $500.00.

The Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

Shane Suire, 20, 1029 Susan Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 21, 2015 at 9:01 pm for improper lane usage, possession of schedule IV narcotic, and a warrant for possession of schedule I narcotic

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division patrolled the Calumet area. In the performance of their duties, they observed a vehicle to continuously cross the centerline. A traffic stop was initiated. Detectives made contact with the driver, Suire, who held an active warrant for Possession of schedule I narcotic, heroin and possession of Klonopin. Upon exiting the vehicle, Detectives located a xanax pill on the driver seat. Suire was arrested and transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
