The following is a list of the people who were arrested in St. Mary Parish in the last 72 hours:

Calvin Conley, 49, 1120 Highway 83, Baldwin, LA was arrested on November 20, 2015 at 8:10 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of remaining where forbidden, resisting an officer, and disturbing the peace (intoxication). A deputy investigating a complaint made contact with Conley and located the active warrant for his arrest. Conley was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $2,000 bond.

McKinsey Hopkins, 18, 198 Lake Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 20, 2015 at 10:53 pm for criminal trespass. A deputy investigating a complaint of a suspicious person on Paul Lane in Franklin found Hopkins on the complainant’s property. Hopkins was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2016.

Dale Simoneaux, Jr., 25, 10799 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 21, 2015 at 5:13 pm on a warrant for 2 counts theft by fraud. On November 16, 2015, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of fraud. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the victim, who was searching for a job, gave Simoneaux $500 on two occasions. Simoneaux claimed the money was for training classes that were necessary for the victim to obtain employment. Simoneaux then told the victim to meet him at a specified location to travel to the training classes. However, Simoneaux never showed up. The deputy obtained a warrant for Simoneaux’s arrest and located him at his residence. Simoneaux was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.

Wilfridin Velez-Santiago, 30, 301 Grizaffi Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 21, 2015 at 8:44 pm for speeding, no driver’s license, and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. A deputy patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 182 and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Velez-Santiago and learned that he was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. The deputy also observed an open bottle of beer inside the vehicle. Velez-Santiago was released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2016.

John A. Banks, 42, 100 Sorrel Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 22, 2015 at 12:30 am for careless operation of a motor vehicle and no insurance. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Highway 182 in the Sorrel area. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Banks. The deputy learned that Banks failed to negotiate a turn and drove into the ditch. The deputy noted no signs of impairment. The vehicle showed no signs of damage. Banks was released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2016. The vehicle was towed by a wrecker service.

 John A. Banks, 42, 100 Sorrel Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 22, 2015 at 5:21 am for reckless operation of a vehicle (with a crash). A deputy was dispatched to a report of a crash on Pepper Road near US Highway 90 in Jeanerette. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Banks, the driver, a second time. The deputy learned that Banks drove another vehicle off the roadway, through a ditch, and into a tree. Following the crash investigation, Banks was transported to the parish jail for booking. Banks was later released on a summons to appear in court of February 11, 2016.
