Nine people have been arrested over the last 24 hours by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to 39 complaints.

Troy A. Jones, 30, 1426 James Street, Siracusa, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 9:26 am on a warrant for theft and criminal trespass. A deputy investigating a report of a theft learned that Jones scrapped a decorative metal item that he took from the victim's yard in Siracusa. The item was located and recovered at a local scrap yard. Jones came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City in reference to the investigation and was subsequently booked on the warrant. Jones was released on a $2,000 bond.

Monica Leblanc, 61, 104 White Strip Cove, Carencro, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 10:49 am for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Leblanc was seen leaving the business with over $170 in unpaid items. Leblanc was transported to the parish jail. She was later released on $1,000 bond.

James Sargent, 45, 116 Henderson Street, Houma, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 11:54 am for theft of goods and criminal trespass. A deputy received information that a suspect from a previous shoplifting complaint reported on November 20, 2015 had returned to a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with the suspect, identified as Sargent. During the investigation, the deputy viewed surveillance footage and collected statements showing Sargent leaving the store with over $500 in welding machines and other items. The deputy transported Sargent to the parish jail for booking. Sargent was released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2015.

Calvin Washington, 55, 308 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 1:09 pm on a warrant for Failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator and failure to pay the annual registration fee as a sex offender or child predator. Washington was convicted of sexual battery in St. Mary Parish in 2012. Washington failed to meet state sex offender registration requirements to notify the community and pay the registration fee. Washington turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin. No bail is set.

Slydrick Bernard, 39, 502 Park Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 3:01 pm on a warrant for improper telecommunications (telephone harassment) and terrorizing. A detective investigating a report of harassment learned that Bernard threatened over the phone to kill a female victim. Bernard was transported from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. No bail is set.

Juvenile male, 13, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 4:14 pm for criminal trespass. A deputy investigating a complaint of trespassing learned that the juvenile rode a four wheeler onto a property in Franklin despite being told multiple times by the landowner to stay off the property. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Damien Adams, 21, 5109 Longview Pvt. Lane, Abbeville, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 4:37 pm for reckless operation of a motor vehicle. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a reckless driver on Highway 90 in the Berwick area. A deputy located the suspect vehicle in the Franklin area and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Adams attempted to pass between two vehicles. He was also seen forcing other drivers off of the roadway by driving too closely to them. Adams was transported to the parish jail for booking. Adams was later released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2016.

Ken Wiggins, 42, 236 Cremo Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 9:24 pm for theft. A deputy investigating a complaint of theft learned that Wiggins, who knew the male victim, stole two video games from the victim's home. Wiggins was released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2015.

Breonne L. Bowie, 27, 421 Lockett Road #2, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 23, 2015 at 9:04 pm for the following offenses:
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace (intoxication)
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of aggravated flight from an officer
- Warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference
- Warrant for Chitimacha Police Department for battery of a police officer, criminal trespass, simple escape, theft, and resisting an officer

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office received information from several sources indicating that Bowie who was wanted on multiple active warrants was at a residence in Franklin. Deputies made contact with subjects at the residence on Easy Street and received consent to search the location. Upon doing so, deputies located Bowie in a rear bedroom. Bowie was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
